Happy Halloween

Halloween is not celebrated in Malaysia, however if you get a group of American families with young children together, Halloween is a must.  Last night, we got together with five other families and had a wonderful Halloween.  Calvin was Diego and Wesley was a cowboy.  As expected, Calvin was extremely excited about dressing up and trick-or-treating.  Wesley thought it was fun to dress up but was not completely clear on what was going on.  He kept saying "I'm Halloween".
We headed over to the apartment building of one of the families and enjoyed pizza and chips & salsa before heading out for some serious trick-or-treating.  Our friends had provided candy to several neighbors to hand out, as well as the guard in the lobby.  Apparently, the guard was so excited to participate he stayed late after his shift just to be there when the kids arrived.  While the kids were busy with the guard, the dads all hid in various doorways in the lobby and the kids were able to trick-or-treat around the lobby too.
We then walked across the street to the apartment of another family and enjoyed Halloween cupcakes and popsicles.  Although we missed the crisp fall weather, carving pumpkins, and celebrating with our neighborhood friends, we still made some fantastic Halloween memories.
